When you don't have the ability to create an event app, but still want that special touch of sending immediate communications to your attendees, group texting services are an affordable way to herd the cats.
There are variety of group texting tools to compare, but most share these abilities.
- Pre-scheduled texts are drafted and saved in advance.
- Immediate texts (when plans/times/locations change) can be sent from you on the fly.
- Guests can opt-out if they choose.
- No reply-all. Replies from guests come back to you - and only to you - in real time.
- Privacy is paramount, as phone numbers are effectively Bccd.
- Phone numbers are uploadable from spreadsheet or CSV file.
When setting up your event registration form, be sure to collect mobile phone numbers with a note to expect texts before/during/after the event.
Three (3) group texts per day at my most recent multi-day event came to a total of $45. I mean, that's leveling up at a bargain price.
