Registration desks get swamped as a conference kicks off, and extensively waiting in line (or "on line," according to my New Yorker friends 😉) is not the greatest start to an event.
Consider setting up an assembly table along the registration queue where guests can busy themselves by creating socially responsible activity kits. Think of comfort kits for a children's hospital or hygiene kits for active military members who are serving overseas.
Not only do the attendees have a feel-good project to work on, but it also allows for sponsorship of the station(s), increasing conference revenue. 💲
